Story
This painting represents women having a ceremony. The concentric circle
represents the site where the women congregate to hold their ceremonies
or sit down in business camp. The lines adjoining the concentric circle
represent the women dancing. The dotting represents the landscape in
that particular area and can depict body paint designs used for ceremonies.
Artist
Nellie Nungala first started to paint helping her husband with the
background dotting on his paintings and now she is a well known painter
in her own right. Nellie lives at Papunya which is a community 240km
west of Alice Springs with her family.
